Danielle is an established salon owner of “Hare and Bristle” located in the beautiful Fingerlakes region of western New York.

Danielle celebrates 18 years behind the chair and continues to sharpen her skills with advanced classes by KMS, Amika, Surface and Milbon. Danielle has traveled internationally to Japan 3 times with the talented Lisa Yamasaki to hone the art of Japanese beauty. Danielle has forged long standing relationships with beauty mentors that awaken her ever changing, chameleon creativity. The proof is in Danielle's subtle cuts, which get months of mileage without losing steam. Danielle knows when to put down the clipper and pick up her shear for scissor over comb, wet to dry men's cuts. Meanwhile, Danielle is a corrective-color genius. Equally adept at producing both organic hues and Crayola brights, she's so in tune with what her clients want that you'll walk out thinking the gemstone shade of pearly blonde highlights was your idea. Bonus: Her eclectic musical taste will keep your playlists poppin.

Danielle is an inspired, hard working, dedicated stylist and built “Hare and Bristle” salon in 2016.  What started as a forgotten office space in a historic building has flourished into a home away from home for Danielle and her salon guests. Danielle has created a 5 star hair experience. People leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Hare and Bristle is Ithaca’s home for cozy, craft hair. Danielle continues to remain open to learning and embracing hair culture on a global scale. Danielle is comitted to continuing education to bring her clients her best work.

Burlesque Performer

Danielle aka “Danielle Saint Velvet, Burlesque Hair Stylist to the stars!” is a world class entertainer, tornado of tease, published and an international touring burlesque artist. Danielle made her name in NYC performing in the LES in 2011 until present day. Danielle works with many performance artists, musicans, drag and theater folx alike. You might even spot a famous burlesque artist or two in her chair. Calamity Chang, Peekaboo Pointe, Sizzlin Liz, Tessa Truheart are just to name drop a few Hare and Bristle celeb clients. Black Cat Vintage

Danielle is not only a stylist and burlesque performer but she is a passionate and creative designer as well. Danielle makes all of her own burlesque costumes and sews clothing out of unique materials such as vintage linen table clothes, recycled denim and antique tapestry. Her clothing is made one by one and can rarely be duplicated due to the unique design process.
