Danielle, the NJ native, has perfected the stylish (without looking styled), indie-gal cut: long, layered and totally low-maintenance. Top your new 'do with Danielle's signature fringey bangs or effortlessly sculpted side swoop and stand by for compliments from strangers. The fact that her cuts grow out ridiculously well means you won't have to lay eyes on the salon's (stylish decor) though we're betting you'll probably want to.
Danielle seeks continuing education out from behind the chair and chooses mentors that awaken her ever changing, chameleon creativity. The proof is in Danielle's subtle cuts, which get months of mileage without losing steam. Danielle knows when to put down the clipper and pick up her shear for scissor over comb, wet to dry men's cuts. Meanwhile, Danielle is a corrective-color genius. Equally adept at producing both organic hues and Crayola brights, she's so in tune with what her clients want that you'll walk out thinking the buttery shade of those woven highlights was your idea. Bonus: Her eclectic musical taste will keep your iPod ultra current.
In addition to styling hair I am a professional burlesque artist and costume designer and I perform regularly in Ithaca and NYC. When I am not performing or touring I can be found brushing up on hair cutting, coloring and styling techniques. I am also an avid collector of vintage and antique clothing and furniture so it was only natural I would move my salon above the Ithaca's source of choice vintage.
As a dancer and seamstress my affection for the creative process is the driving force behind my artistry. It is a selfish indulgence to design a new burlesque costume from scratch. I thoroughly enjoy finding antique details and old dresses to customize and tailor to fit my stage persona. I have an affection for timeless, old hollywood glamour. I don't call myself a "sentimental showgirl" for nothing! To be a burlesque dancer is to love history and vice versa.
When I am not performing or working in my studio I can be found planting bulbs in my garden and spending time with my husband Ben, son Elijah, two orange cats, Egg and Mouse and a 5 pound Brussels Griffon named Fig <3
